The Appendix Protects Us from Germs and Protects Good Bacteria

According to a study published in the Journal of Theoretical Biology, the appendix can no longer be considered a redundant organ. The ‘immune system’ cells, that are located in the appendix, feed and protect the ‘good’ bacteria of the gut thereby eliminating the ‘bad’ bacteria.
