In a pilot study from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, it was found that mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), which included meditation, yoga, and body scanning exercises, was significantly effective in reducing stress and depression. Fifty participants took part in MBSR and cognitive-behavioral stress reduction (CBSR) course of eight weeks duration.
