Yoga, Meditation, and the Reduction of Stress |

In a pilot study from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, it was found that mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), which included meditation, yoga, and body scanning exercises, was significantly effective in reducing stress and depression. Fifty participants took part in MBSR and cognitive-behavioral stress reduction (CBSR) course of eight weeks duration. Read more

According to a pilot study published in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, acupuncture may be an effective and an acceptable treatment option for post traumatic stress disorder. Subjects diagnosed with PTSD were randomized to either acupuncture treatment (ACU), a group cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), or a wait-list control (WLC). Read more

Why did you decide to be a therapist?I always knew I wanted to be a therapist. Even as a kid.
