A randomized, double blind, placebo controlled study conducted by the German researchers revealed that devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) can significantly reduce muscle stiffness in patients with moderate back, shoulder, or neck pain.

In the study, sixty three patients were divided into a verum group and a placebo group. The verum group received 2x480 mg tablets per day of Harpagophytum extract LI 174 (Rivoltan(R)) over a period of four weeks. The Harpagophytum extract was found to have significant clinical efficacy in treating moderate muscular pain. Little difference was noted in muscular reflexes in the control group.

Mary I had low back pain so severe it caused me to limp and I could not do many activities that I enjoyed. I had tried many different things for the pain including medications and chiropractic but after I started receiving acupuncture on a regular basis my back pain went away. Now, I receive regular treatments once a month and it regulates my health and stops the pain.

Michael I went to an Ayurvedic doctor who suggested I add flax ghee turmeric and licorice root to my diet for asthma. I have found that it does help.

george I went to an Ayurvedic practitioner and she suggested I do oil massages with coconut oil and eat oatmeal and ghee. These small changes have really improved my mood.
