The underground stems called rhizomes and above ground stems of ginger have been used in Chinese, Japanese, and Indian medicine for hundreds of years. It is unclear if ginger can improve joint and muscle pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.

Avoid if allergic to ginger or other members of the Zingiberaceae family (such as red ginger, Alpinia purpurata, shell ginger, Alpinia zeru, green cardamom, and Balsam of Peru). Use cautiously if driving or operating machinery. Stop two weeks before and immediately after surgery/dental/diagnostic procedures due to risk of bleeding. Avoid with a history of irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). Use cautiously with a history of ulcers, acid reflux, heart conditions, inflammatory bowel disease, blocked intestines, or bleeding disorders. Use cautiously if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Kath Malone I take Glucosamine daily and it seems to have prevented my knees from worsening. I also get less pain in them. However, I am suffering with arthritis in the hands and wrrist now and the glucosamine does not seem to help this.

Annette Snow This is very good for swollen, stinging , burning symptoms . Especially in your feet. Also swollen feet ( acts as diuretic)
It also gets rid of gout or pseudo gout where small crystals form in your blood or joins causing pain. Less expensive then cherry juice and acts similarly on your system. I pick my own and make a tea (wear gloves).
