Nasal irrigation
: Nasal irrigation is used to clear the sinuses and can be performed by the patient at home or by a healthcare professional. Studies support the usage of hypertonic saline for nasal irrigation. There is good evidence in support of nasal irrigation for allergic rhinitis and sinusitis. The International Consensus Report on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Rhinitis has recommended nasal irrigation for the treatment of rhinitis. Additional high quality clinical research is needed in this area before a firm conclusion can be made.Natural Standard Monograph, Copyright © 2008 (www.naturalstandard.com).
