Probiotics and Immunoaugmentative Therapy (IAT) Overview

Probiotics : Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that are sometimes called friendly germs. Most probiotics come from food sources, especially cultured milk products. There is recent evidence that supplementation with Lactobacillus casei may help reduce the recurrence of colorectal tumors in patients who have previously undergone surgery for colon cancer. Long-term consumption of probiotics is considered safe and well tolerated. Diarrhea may be a sign of too many probiotics. Use cautiously if lactose intolerant.Natural Standard Monograph, Copyright © 2008 (www.naturalstandard.com). Commercial distribution prohibited.
