Reiki: Reiki is a system of lying on of the hands that originated in as a Buddhist practice approximately 2,500 years ago. One randomized trial suggests that Reiki may have an effect on autonomic nervous system functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, or breathing activity, important in neurological disorders that may damage autonomic function.
