Massage: Hand massage did not appear to alter comfort levels or satisfaction with care in nursing home residents in one study. Larger, well-designed studies are needed before a recommendation can be made.Various forms of massage are often used in patients with cancer, with the aim to improve well-being and reduce anxiety. There is limited research in this area.
