Butterbur Overview

 
 Summary:Butterbur is a shrub, found throughout Europe as well as parts of Asia and North America. It is usually found in wet, marshy areas, in damp forests, or close to rivers or streams. The leaves are broad and can grow up to three feet wide. The leaves of the plant are responsible for its botanical and common names. Butterbur has lilac-pink flowers and can grow up to three feet high. The large leaves have been used to wrap butter during warm weather, which is where the name "butterbur" came from.Scientific Evidence:Uses These uses have been tested in humans or animals.
