Summary: DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is an endogenous hormone (made in the human body), and secreted by the adrenal gland. DHEA serves as precursor to male and female sex hormones (androgens and estrogens). I have just begun taking DHEA for my rheumatoid arthritis so I am still not sure if it works. That said a friend of mine is taking it and she says she can tell a difference.
