At rVeda we realize that information our users provide on our site is of a highly personal nature. As a result, we make privacy an important aspect of user experience with the site.
Contact Information
User contact information is considered highly private and is only known to the user and to rVeda. When a user “asks a question” or “asks for an appointment” from our trusted network of practitioners, we share the user’s contact information with the practitioner so that the user may be contacted. No user contact information is shared with other users.
rVeda may use a user’s information to communicate with him/her for feedback or to alert him/her about news articles that might be of interest. All our news alerts include an opt-out option.
We do not share your information with any third parties, except when required to do so by law.
Personal Stories and Therapy Information
rVita site visitors are encouraged to share their stories and treatment information. Our site builds communities of users with similar experiences. Exchanges between users are an important aspect of community building. Our users have a choice whether to share their story or not with other registered users. We identify registered users only by their screen name.
Sharing on the site is not required for our visitors to get the benefits of our knowledgebase and services. We don’t collect identifying information from visitors. Data shared is aggregated internally by rVeda to build a treatment knowledgebase. This data only contains the registered users screen name, therapy, and efficacy and does not contain contact information.
Disclosure of Information
When a user “asks a question” or “asks for an appointment” of our trusted network of practitioner we disclose the user’s contact information with the practitioner so that user may be contacted.
We may disclose aggregate therapy, condition, and efficacy data to third-parties. We will not share individual data points with the third parties. Examples of aggregate information are: the number of users who found a therapy efficacious and ratings of news articles.
Practitioner Information
We make available to our site visitors contact and practice information for our registered and directory practitioners. This information can be viewed by all site visitors. User Communities & Forums
Users within our community are able to communicate on our forums using their screen names. We recommend that users do not include any personal information in their forum postings. E-mail
We send information to our users by e-mail at their request. If at any time users do not wish to receive e-mail from us, they can contact us at our address or by e-mail to be removed from our distribution lists.
rVeda does not share e-mail addresses within the site or with third parties. We do not resell e-mail addresses.
Data Storage and Security
User log-on and contact information are stored on secured third-party servers. Personal stories and therapy information are stored in the same way. We believe these servers to be secure. It is not likely that user privacy would be jeopardized in this environment. Personal information collected by rVeda is stored and processed on our servers in the United States or in any other country in which rVeda or its partners maintain a facility. By using the site you consent to such transfers.
When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial or health information, we redirect visitors to a secure server and will notify visitors through a pop-up screen on our site. We have appropriate security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information that we have collected from users on our site.
