| A massage or a bodywork therapist is a CAM professional who applies soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the body in aim to improve physical, functional, and sometimes psychological well-being. The massage is targeted at muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or the gastrointestinal system. The massage therapies may use hands, fingers, elbows, forearms, feet, and massage tools during treatment. Many people see massage therapists for chronic conditions such as low back pain, arthritis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, infertility, and immune disorders.
