A German placebo controlled study published in American Journal of Medicine claimed that willow-bark extract was significantly effective in reducing low back pain. In the clinical trial, the 210 participants with low back pain randomly received either low dose willow bark extract or high dose willow bark extract or a placebo. The results indicated that high-dose willow bark extract was more effective in reducing low back pain as compared to low dose willow bark extract or the placebo.
