Infertility in men is diagnosed through the following methods:

Review of medical, reproductive, and surgical history is done since many disorders, drugs, and surgery may affect the fertility.

Physical examination is done to detect testicular irregularities and hormonal disorders.

Semen analysis is performed to examine for quality and abnormalities in semen.

Sperm-mucus interaction determines whether semen is delivered to cervix via the mucus in the female reproductive tract.

Sperm penetration assay is done to test whether the sperm is able to penetrate the egg.
