Mrs. Tina Elmore-Wright

Ayurveda, Homeopathy
About me
During her childhood years, she and her parents lived without modern amenities such as electricity, running water or telephone. They built a home from the trees they cut and homesteaded the land. Her mother cooked by wood stove and used an antique icebox for refrigeration. Oil lanterns provided light for many evening baths with water warmed by fire. Nearby, other family members were sharing a similar rustic lifestyle; and she gives credit to this for her interest in folk and simplistic therapies.

Several years ago she began tracing her family's Native American heritage. Her husband, Greg, who is Seminole and Choctaw by birth, has further strengthened this search. Recent contact with a lost cousin has revealed Lakota lineage, and together with her cousin's help; she hopes to rekindle family ties.

Ayurveda
An Ayurvedic practitioner is a CAM specialist who uses observation, touch, therapies, and advising to treat and restore a state of balance to all aspects of the human body in order to help prevent illness and promote wellness. Ayurveda is based on the philosophy that people, their health, and the universe are all related. It is believed that health problems can result when these relationships are out of balance. Herbs, metals, massage, meditation, yoga, and other products and techniques are used for this purpose. Individuals visit Ayurvedic practitioners for conditions ranging from the common cold to cancer, diabetes and arthritis. As with any CAM treatment, please keep your CAM provider and PCP informed of any alternative or conventional treatments you are currently undergoing to insure safety and suitability.
