According to several studies, bromelain may be an effective treatment for various upper respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis and bronchitis. Results from double blind clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of bromelain in the treatment of acute sinusitis found that 85% of patients receiving bromelain showed a complete resolution of breathing difficulties and inflammation of the nasal mucosa following treatment.
