According to a study published in the German journal of pharmacology, Arzneimittel-Forschung, a combination of dry extracts of thyme herb and primrose root may prove effective in the treatment of acute bronchitis.
The study, which evaluated 361 patients with acute bronchitis, found that individuals who were treated with the thyme-primrose combination for 11 days showed significant improvement in comparison to those who were treated with a placebo. The study further found that treatment was safe with little or no side-effects.
