Conventional Treatment of Bronchitis

For acute bronchitis:

When suffering from acute bronchitis, there is no need for antibiotics since acute bronchitis may disappear within a few days
Aspirin and acetaminophen should be taken if there is fever
Sufficient rest and plenty of fluids should be taken
Use of humidifiers or steam in the bathroom is advised

For chronic bronchitis:

Quitting smoking
Drugs such as albuterol and ipratropium
Oral bronchodilators such as theophylline
Corticosteroids either inhaled or by mouth
Flu vaccine or pneumococcal vaccine
