A study published in the Zhongguo Zhen Jiu. journal indicated that abdominal points TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) combined with abdominal acupuncture used lesser stimulation points and had better analgesic effect than when used alone. The randomized clinical trial was conducted in China on 120 people with pain in the neck, shoulder, loin, and legs. Thirty participants each were included in the four groups, namely, abdominal acupuncture TENS group, acu-points TENS group, electro-acupuncture group, and non-abdominal acupuncture TENS group.
