Hello Charles,
I see you want sedative herbs and stress relief. Lavender essential oil is wonderful to help you relax and sleep. My favoriet sedative herb is Kava-Kava. The great thing about it is that Kava is an adaptogen. If you need energy, you get it. If you need to relax/sleep, it does that too. You may also want to try GABA 1,000 mg before bed. It helps your body produce and regulate melatonin and serotonin to help you sleep and improve your energy and mood.
