Acupuncture and herbs can bring about a lot of relief from RA. Seek out an acupuncturist to help with the process.......Acupuncture is good but it is really the herbal medicine. If you are taking prescription drugs for it all ready then make sure to mention what you are on to the acupuncturist so that they can check for drug-herb interactions............Also have a look at this paper. The author is a reputable acupuncturist.

movement, movement & more movement, besides anything else you do, find an exercise that work for you and keep moving.

I wake up with arthritis every day. I keep on moving and somehow by the middle of the day its a lot less or gone. If I had to stay in bed for any reason, I would stay in pain all day. The only time I take anything for it is when I have a fever 'cause that's when its much worse, all over, and I can't excercise for it.

I was on methotrexate for 8 months for my RA until dangerously high blood pressure as a side effect made me stop them recently, but several acupuncture sessions and Ayurveda massages didn´t really help at all.

A lot of people don´t realise that rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disorder, not just an inflammation of the joints or such like, hence the immune system needs to be treated rather than the bones or the blood, for example.

My rheumatologist has now prescribed Arava for me (another immuno-suppressant drug). I was not going to take any more chemicals and heavy stuff like this, but with all the pain you tend to get rather desperate... also, with RA, you need to *prevent* irreversible joint damage in the long run and I haven´t heard of any herbal or alternative medicine yet that can do that, never mind herbal medicine that fixes the immune system... I am desperately waiting for that day.

Sorry, I´m not of much help, but I thought I´d share.

Avoid taking anything that is homogenised like milk. Avoid too using the
microwave for heating or cooking. Those processes change the nature of hormones which are able to pass into the blood stream undigested. It is due to features like this that causes the immune system to attack itself. Try taking the nutrient CO-Q10 at dosages of up to 600 mgs daily while the problem exists. Best to take the dry powered capsules available on the Internet; avoid those that have polyunsaturated fats in them. You might also consider taking the enzyme serrapeptase (generic name) at around 25 mgs or 40,000 units which is a useful anti-inflammatory that has other benefits but no known adverse side-effects.

PS (to above): You might also consider ramping down on your carbohydrate intake, the long term consumption which causes arthritis and many other serious health problems.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease. Regulating your immune function and anti-inflammatory herbs is a good start.

Look into Food sensitivities(there are certain foods that your immune system doesn't agree with)and ....

Gut dysbiosis/Leaky gut(cells in your small intestine become damaged and then more permeable to particles such as bacteria, undigested and oversized particles, that should not pass this samll intestine's barrier and get into the blood stream. The damage allows "unwanted" particles to pass into the bloodstream and can lead to inflammation and a negative immune response.

Anti-inflammatory herbs and Detoxification is also important.
Look for a practitioner of Bowen therapy,

I have seen some good results with this in combination.

It is difficult to recommend just one supplement or combination of supplements for RA, because we have to treat you not just RA. We as need a proper history to determine possible combination of causes.
