Taken in recommended dosages there are few reported side effects of black cohosh.
In Canada, the Health department issued a warning about Black Cohosh concerning liver damage. This however was in a toxicology report from kids taking large dosages with other 'illicit' substances which have a toxic effect upon the liver. The effects upon the liver are also found with allopathic or prescription drugs and many trials no longer have to report effects upon the liver by these drugs companies.
